Introduction
As the school year draws to a close, ¿?sickbeats?¿ is taking a moment to look back on the unforgettable moments of 2024 at Eunoia. We've chosen the tracks that fueled us during those times or set the rhythm for each milestone. So, without further ado, we present... EJ Wrapped 2024!
Orientation
2024 started with a blast! "Best Song Ever" by One Direction got this year’s J1s pumped from the very beginning, as they danced to this childhood classic. ‘Cause we danced all night to the best song ever’, this song encapsulates the students' enthusiasm for starting the school year.
EuRun
"Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars is the quintessential marathon song, perfect for pushing runners to the finishing line with its infectious rhythm and high-energy vibe. The driving beat mirrors the energy of the runners and upbeat instrumental music in the background lifts runners’ spirits, keeping them motivated with every step. The repeated lyrics of “You betta’ run” in the chorus are an empowering call to action that spur on listeners to keep moving forward. ‘Runaway Baby’ is the perfect soundtrack of determination, energy, and spirit!
NSG
"Supernatural" by New Jeans is a song with a catchy rhythm and addictive tempo. Besides being a catchy song for our athletes to train along with, the title suggests our view of our multi talented athletes. Throughout the NSG season, our fellow athletes have been juggling with multiple commitments, while still having to train regularly. Throughout these hardships, they still manage to bring glory to Eunoia each time — and make the rest of us amazed at their powerful ability and determination!
Humanities & Aesthetics (HAW) Week
“Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish really captures the vibes of HAW, bringing out that feeling of unity and shared creativity. The lyrics, “we’re birds of a feather, flying high together” and “we go hand in hand, in love with all we plan,” reflect how HAW brings us together as a community, celebrating each person’s unique talents while exploring new ideas. Whether we’re attending workshops, performances or seminars, HAW is all about uplifting one another and creating something amazing together. Just like birds soaring side by side, we’re all on this journey, connected and inspired by each other.
Inter-House Games
“Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar perfectly captures the energy and intensity of competitive spirit, making it an ideal song to describe the Inter-House Games. The song’s theme of resilience and determination resonates with the drive athletes bring to these events, where each house strives to prove their strength and unity. The lyrics embody the principles of a man with morals who stands by his beliefs, owns his mistakes and faces fear without compromising his integrity. Likewise, it parallels the effort students put into pushing their limits and representing their teams with pride. This song represents a sense of rivalry and the desire to triumph, highlighting both the camaraderie and the competitive edge that define the Inter-House Games.
Prelims & Promos
"Smart" by LE SSERAFIM perfectly embodies exam season. Its bold lyrics encourage students to face the exams with confidence and determination. Amidst study sessions and mounting pressure, its lyrics remind students to push through and believe in their potential. Just as LE SSERAFIM fearlessly conquers challenges, we students should embrace this mindset to tackle our exams head-on.
"Good Luck, Babe!" by Chappell Roan is the perfect anthem for us students facing exam season. With its upbeat energy, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ serves as a fun pick-me-up as students tackle late-night study sessions and heavy workloads. Listening to it can boost morale and make study sessions more fun and interesting. The song’s lyrics, "Good luck, babe (well, good luck), well, good luck, babe (well, good luck)" can serve as encouragement to students as well.
J2's Graduation
‘‘Til We Meet Again" by Aespa is a wistful ballad that beautifully captures the Class of '24's farewell to their two-year journey at EJ. Paired with its hypnotic melody, the lyrics, ‘We keep it strong until we meet again", evoke a sense of hope for the future as the J2s prepare to leave behind their familiar surroundings and embark on new adventures. There is a bittersweet yet uplifting quality to the song, reminding them to cherish their memories while looking forward to the next chapter. This bright tune wraps up the year with a sense of optimism and anticipation, setting the tone for the promise of new beginnings in 2025!
