“PARTY ROCK IS IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT, EVERYBODY JUST HAVE A GOOD TIME!!” What better description is there of Eunoia’s vibrant work-hard-play-hard spirit? The uplifting, carefree lyrics and the energetic beat lend this song an infectious energy that perfectly captures the excitement of student life. While coming to JC can be daunting, this song reminds us that EJC is also where some of our best memories can be made, and encourages us to embrace and make the best of whatever life brings you.

Deserving of a spot in an indie movie soundtrack, this drum-filled rock song confronts our time spent worrying about the future, shifting our focus to the fun of now. Its lyrics, “These are the days that follow you home,” reminds us that our current moments will serve as fond memories in the future. In back to school terms, this tune spells out the importance of enjoying ourselves and taking risks, urging us to embrace the ups and downs with a sense of adventure!

Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York” is the perfect back-to-school anthem, capturing the excitement of fresh beginnings and new opportunities. Its upbeat energy and lyrics —”It's a new soundtrack, I could dance to this beat forevermore"— embody the thrill of reinvention. Picture yourself walking into school, earphones in, having your main character moment as the beat drops. With its infectious optimism, the song sets the tone for a year of growth, discovery, and new beginnings at EJC.

“Kiss The Sky”, from the highly acclaimed animated film “The Wild Robot”, encapsulates the thrill of uncertainty when beginning the school year. It acknowledges the trepidation associated with treading new uncharted waters, yet encourages listeners to take leaps of faith and chase their dreams regardless, as suggested by the lyrics, “Time will slip on by if you're stuck here livin' life with too much caution, So go out in this world and get every single thing you ever wanted”. It’s the perfect song to help you start your school year on the right foot!

“Self Care” by Mac Miller is a great back-to-school track as it emphasises resilience and prioritising mental health above everything else, perfect for students navigating a new academic year. The song's melodic and mellow tone reminds listeners to take care of themselves when faced with hard times and stress. In this song, Mac Miller informs us how he felt about the hardships he faced in life, with lyrics that reflect his carefree nature and his calmness when faced with obstacles. This can similarly be said for students as entering a new school year can be tough but as long as you remain calm, you can get through this.

This recently released song by K-pop boy band Seventeen’s subunit, BSS, is an energising feel-good song that is bound to get you through the day with its energetic beats and encouraging lyrics. The message of the song, to embrace your “prime time”, reminds us to embrace our youth because our “youth is now”, and sends a positive message to everyone that one should live their life to the fullest and enjoy the time they have currently. As we start a new year in EJC, let us continue holding our heads up high, treasure these moments and enjoy the present as we embrace this prime time of our lives!
