Designed to complement student life beyond CCAs, Eunoia Junior College's special programmes offer structured opportunities for students to deepen their interests, broaden their perspectives, and grow through purposeful engagement beyond the classroom. In doing so, they empower students to take initiative, develop critical skills, and explore their potential in meaningful ways.
Eunoia Humanities Programme
The Eunoia Humanities Programme (EHP) has long stood as a cornerstone of the college’s vision to nurture thoughtful leaders and changemakers with a sustained passion for the Humanities. More than just an academic programme, EHP invites students to question, explore, and reimagine the world through historical, geographical, philosophical, cultural, and social lenses. Its interdisciplinary approach shapes learners who are as intellectually curious and empathetic, equipping them to navigate the complexities of an ever-changing global landscape.
Every Friday, EHPians gather for sessions that extend far beyond traditional classroom learning. Through the liberal arts modules, students explore diverse research methodologies, ethical considerations, and the art of critical inquiry. These sessions encourage them to think independently and engage with big questions about human values, purpose, and progress. Alongside this, the International and Regional Affairs (IRA) module sharpens students’ geopolitical and cultural awareness. By analysing regional developments and global events, students gain nuanced insights into how societies interact and evolve, a crucial skill for the globally minded humanist.

EHP’s learning extends well beyond theory. Learning journeys, such as visits to the National Gallery’s special exhibitions or excursions to urban farms, invite students to connect ideas with the world around them. Such experiences challenge them to see the Humanities not as distant concepts, but as living, breathing forces that shape everyday life.
One of the unique strengths of the EHP lies in its opportunities for collaboration and exchange. Students can take part in the Waseda Shibuya Senior High School exchange programme, which fosters cross-cultural dialogue between Singaporean and Japanese students. Through discussions, dialogues, and cultural immersion, EHPians learn the power of empathy and perspective-taking, which are hallmarks of a well-rounded humanities education.
EHP students also test their skills and creativity in national-level Humanities and Social Science competitions such as the Humanities Insights Challenge and the NTU Social Science Challenge. These platforms push students to grapple with real-world issues, think critically under pressure, and articulate their ideas with clarity and conviction.

The highlight of the EHP journey, however, is undoubtedly the Overseas Enrichment Programme (OEP). For the JC1 2025 cohort, the destination was Hiroshima, Japan, which is well-known as a city rich in history, culture, and lessons about peace and resilience. There, students applied their interdisciplinary learning to examine Hiroshima’s narratives through social, philosophical, and artistic dimensions. Pre-OEP workshops on Japanese culture and drama prepared them to engage thoughtfully and respectfully, ensuring that the trip became not just a visit, but an intellectual and emotional experience.

Through these rich layers of exploration, the Eunoia Humanities Programme continues to inspire EHPians to connect humanity’s past with its future. It is a journey of curiosity, compassion, and courage, one that truly embodies what it means to be a humanities student.
Bicultural Studies Programme
The Eunoia Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP) is a vibrant community built on curiosity, cultural appreciation, and a shared passion for understanding China and the world beyond our shores. BSP is not just about the mastery of Chinese language and culture, it is far more than just that. Perspectives are what set us apart: sharpening our ability to observe, question, and critically process the world around us through a uniquely Singaporean lens.
Teachers actively implement student suggestions and feedback. Lessons and seminars are often discussion-based and student-led, encouraging critical thinking, open dialogue, and the confidence to express nuanced views on complex international affairs. Beyond classroom learning, BSP offers a wide range of enriching experiences. Students can look forward to lectures by scholars, as well as local learning journeys that deepen their understanding of biculturalism in practice. One example would be the three-part lesson where students were provided with funds to explore and experience the diverse food culture in Singapore. Hawker centers, food markets and local restaurants were visited by students split into groups.
These opportunities allow BSP students to engage with different cultures first-hand, broaden their worldview, and apply what they learn in real-world contexts. Furthermore, through these shared experiences, strong friendships and a supportive BSP cohort are naturally formed.
Another standout programme offered to BSP students is the overseas immersion programme. One example is the 16-day cultural immersion trip to Chengdu and Chongqing in China, where students explored the central and western regions of the country and gained firsthand exposure to local cultures and ways of life. Through this experience, students developed a deeper understanding of the strategic importance of these two cities in the development and urbanisation of China’s central and western regions. The holistic and in-depth learning experiences allowed students to appreciate the depth of Chinese culture through activities such as visiting 武侯祠, while also gaining insights into China’s rapid modernisation through visits to contemporary enterprises like CapitaLand. Beyond academic learning, the immersion also fostered meaningful friendships and lasting memories, making it a truly enriching and holistic experience beyond the classroom.
What truly sets BSP apart are the people. Here, you will find a warm and welcoming space where discussions extend beyond lessons, freely exchanged ideas, and learning beyond the classroom. At the end of the four years, BSP becomes a space for us to grow intellectually and individually.
